Just a couple of ideas...

First off, let me apologize for all this time off. I think I was busy. Here's my excuse. I got me a new phone, an Android. Keep in mind, this was a tough decision as I have been a die-hard windows mobile PC fan for years, ever since I got my first pocket PC in 2003-2004, a Toshiba e310 PDA.Previous to that, it was all Palm OS, which I outgrew very quickly. This phone, however, was my favorite back in the day.  It was a Kyocera of some sort , my last phone before I went windows mobile .Mainly it was for the purpose of note taking with the stylus.As years went by, it really became clear to me that this feature was hardly ever used. I guess it was because my typing skills increased. So it came down to Android or Iphone. Both were equal in comparison and the deciding factor was price and storage capability. Being due for an upgrade, AT&T offered the Samsung with Android free . Iphone did offer a free version, but alas, it only contained 8gb of memory and I needed more so I went with the 16gb storage with microSD capacity of another 32. And the conclusion to this small tale is, I've been playing with my new phone constantly.

Now, on to part two of my story. Saturday night, It became apparent to me that it was time to reformat my system and move from Windows 7 32 bit, to Windows 7 64 bit.  Originally, Windows Vista 64bit was what had been in my system, but for audio applications, and a few other odds and ends, I needed to revert to a 32 bit version. Now, my application library has been rebuilt, so I had decided it was time. I just hope all the audio shit pulls together now.

Anyways, that leads me to my point. In backing up all my data, two things have  become abundantly clear to me. Always use two web browsers and always have at least three email accounts. Here's why.

I make it no secret that Opera is by far my most favorite browser of all time. there are a great number of add-ins available for it, and pretty much every gadget under the sun. The best part of it, to me, is the speed dial page. What this is, is an editable web page where you can put over thirty of your favorite and most visited sites. You put what you want and the application doesn't do it for you. So basically, I do everything with it and its my default browser. Okay, so why would you need another browser  you ask? Most browsers have the ability to save your passwords and login info for all your sites, but sometimes that can be annoying. I have been known to use various changes in cc info and mailing addresses, etc. So when I have all my main info in one browser, I keep my backup one 'empty' so to say, so I don't have to worry about and sending out different info. Think about it and you'll come up with some other ideas also. Its also good when a friend wants to sign in his facebook or email account that they use the backup browser so when you check yours on your main browser, you're not looking at someone else's info. And when you're in a hurry, there's nothing more annoying having to resign in . Maybe it's because I'm a geek, but I like to keep at least three email accounts. The one main one is kept for personal usage. For example, my mom has it and so does my brother , most of my friends, and my Dentist and Doctors. You get the idea. The second one is mostly for forums and certain websites that I need to use an email to sign in with. I am somewhat selective with this one because you need to have some understanding of web pages to use an email address. In most cases though, it's easy to tell a safe web page from one that's going to send you a shit load of spam. That brings us to our last email account. This one is used for all the rest of the crap out there. You know what I'm talking about. You sign up for an on-line gaming account and the next thing you know, you get bombarded with millions of pieces of useless mail. Again, by now, you should know the difference in these types of sites. So there you go. You may not agree with these things, but they're some things that I do to make my computing experience a little easier. Feel free to share any tips or ideas in the comment section if you have any because it's never too late to learn.
